Tres Records inked a deal with the duo, feeling they were a good fit to the percussively distinct sound associated with Tres releases. Coupling a new-school marketable image with old-school craftsmanship, The Project breaks pre-existing molds in a Dipset meets the Native Tongues kind of way. It is the vast array of influences and styles which The Project contains in their bag of tricks that makes them stand out from the rest.

UNEARTHED RECORDINGS FROM CT HIP-HOP LEGEND DOOLEY-O’S BASEMENT COMPILED INTO THE BASEMENT TAPES DROPPING OCT 16TH

Triple threat MC, DJ, producer, Dooley-O proves that New York City was not the only breeding ground for ground breaking Hip-Hop music in the late eighties and early nineties as is shown through the release of The Basement Tapes. Music all recorded from 1988 through ’94, the recordings are literally dubbed from lost tapes found stashed away in the Connecticut resident’s basement. What is most interesting is that with much of the production coming from Dooley-O who is credited to unearth the crate digger classic, “It’s New Day” by the Skull Snaps, it’s not surprising to see many of the samples were reused by other artists to later become some of the classic tracks we all know and love.

LEGENDARY PETE ROCK COLLABORATOR, ROB-O, COMPILES RARE AND UNRELEASED RECORDINGS FROM 1994 – 1999 IN NEW RELEASE, RHYME PRO

As recordings from the mid 90’s Boom-Bap era have left fans jerking their necks years after their favorite albums dropped, the hunt has only increased to unearth rare and unreleased classics that never became classics. The songs contained on Rob-O’s Rhyme Pro brings together both the rare and unreleased as the collection of solo tracks from 1994-1999 can finally be found compiled together in one release set for October 16th. All of these tracks have had a limited circulation within Hip-Hop circles in one form or another but until now, they have been next to impossible for anyone to get their hands on. For the first time, these rare tracks are being officially released by the newly formed Connecticut based label; Sound of Dissent Records.
